We'll be glad to tell you more about EBUCC, so, briefly put, we identify ourselves as a church seeking to perceive the call and purposes of our "Still-Speaking God" and to be involved in serving God as best we can using responsibly the life and gifts God has given us. As a Protestant Christian denomination, EBUCC affirms the faith expressed in historic creeds of the Christian Churches including the Apostles' Creed. Our United Church of Christ Statement of Faith is a more modern expression of what we believe. With our sisters and brothers in the United Church of Christ, we believe that "God is still speaking." Our worship and witness are based on the historic and faithful witness of the Holy Scriptures and the teachings and creeds of Protestant Christianity. We have an ear, however, not only to listen for what God has already said and done, but to where God continues to help us grow and learn. We seek in our worship, study, and discernment of gifts and calling and in the use of our resources to participate in God's life-changing and life-giving mission in the world as demonstrated in Jesus Christ through faithful worship, words, and actions. In light of recent disasters, you are encouraged to donate generously to one of the many agencies that are providing emergency relief assistance in the US and worldwide. You can make a donation through the United Church of Christ's ecumenical relief efforts, and for more information on the United Church of Christ as a whole, visit the official home page of the UCC. Baust is in the Central Atlantic Conference, Catoctin Association. |
